TRIO Student Success Services

TRiO Student Success Services provides academic and personal support to eligible students. Our goal is to help you graduate and transfer to a four-year school. Our program is one of over 900 TRiO Student Support Services projects on college and university campuses across the nation.

TRiO-SSS works! TRiO-SSS participants were more than twice as likely to graduate than other low-income, first generation college students at SSCC. (2008 SSCC Annual Report)

Congress established TRiO programs to help low-income Americans access higher education, graduate, and move on to engage more fully in America's economic and civic fabric. While financial aid programs help students overcome financial barriers, TRIO programs help students overcome class, social, and cultural barriers to higher education.

SSCC has two other highly successful TRiO programs ~ Upward Bound and Educational Talent Search.
